  <dc:description>This photograph shows Archbishop James A Smith of the Diocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh seated on a wooden chair at the foot of some steps at the foot of the entrance to a stone building [presumably a church].  Archbishop Smith was born in Edinburgh on 18th October 1841; he was consecrated Bishop of Dunkeld by Archbishop Smith in Dundee on 28th October 1890 then translated to St Andrews and Edinburgh on 30th August 1900; he died in Edinburgh on 25th November 1928.
