  <dc:description>This pull out from a publishing proof shows a photograph of Mgr John Conroy, who was, at the time the photograph was taken, Rev Conroy DD, Vice-Rector of St Peter's College, Bearsden (his appointment as Vice-Rector was in 1946); Mgr Conroy was born in the East End of Glasgow on 31st January 1906; he was ordained priest at the Scots College in Rome on 25th May 1929; he was appointed a Professor in St Peter's College, Bearsden in 1935 and was subsequently appointed Vice-Rector of the College in 1946; he assumed the responsibility of Vicar-General of the Diocese of Motherwell in 1960; he died in Nazareth House, Southampton on 20th April 1994 aged 88.</dc:description>
