Archbishop Mario Joseph Conti, Diocese of Glasgow This formal photograph is of a young, smiling Archbishop Mario Conti and, according to the back of the photograph, was taken whilst he was Bishop of Aberdeen (he was nominated Bishop of Aberdeen on 28th February 1977); Archbishop Conti was born at Elgin, Moray on 20th March 1934 and ordained priest at Rome on 26th October 1958; he was nominated Bishop of Aberdeen on 28th February 1977; he was translated to Glasgow on 22nd February 2002; he is due to retire as Archbishop on his 75th birthday on 20th March 2009.
