Rt Rev Monsignor Francis Cronin, Diocese of Aberdeen This photograph shows Mgr Francis Cronin seated in a formal pose, with his left hand resting on the side of his face; Mgr Cronin was born at Lossiemouth on 4th August 1879; he was ordained on 1st November 1903 at Scots College in Rome; in 1928 he succeeded the late Mgr McGregor as Rector of Blairs College; he died at St Leonards-on-Sea on 13th March 1939, aged only 59; full details of Mgr Cronin's life can be found on pp 362-363 of The Catholic Directory for 1940.
