  <dc:description>This photograph shows a painting of Bishop John Geddes which, according to a pencilled note on the back of the photograph, hangs in Royal Scots College, Valladolid; Bishop Geddes was born on 9th September 1735 and ordained priest on 18th March 1759; he was appointed Coadjutor Vicar Apostolic of Lowland District on 30th September 1779 and, on the same date, appointed Titular Bishop of Marocco o Marruecos, Titular Sees; he was ordained Titular Bishop of Marocco o Marruecos, Titular Sees on 30th November 1780; he resigned as Coadjutor Vicar Apostolic of Lowland District on 26th October 1797 and died on 11th February 1799.</dc:description>
