  <dc:description>This photograph shows a portrait of Bishop Alexander Paterson; Bishop Paterson was born at Pathhead, Enzie, Banffshire in March 1766 and ordained priest at Douai, France in [1791]; he was nominated titular bishop of Cybistra and coadjutor vicar apostolic on 14th May 1816, being consecrated at Paisley on 18th August 1816; he was succeeded on 20th August 1825 and translated to Eastern District on 13th February 1827; he died in Dundee on 30th October 1831.</dc:description>
