Entered the English Province of the Society of Jesus 7 September 1929. Ordained as Roman Catholic priest 22 July 1942. Final vows in the Society of Jesus 2 February 1948. Died 3 June 1978 in Wrexham, England.

Fr Francis Roberts was born in 1910 and attended Preston Catholic College. Between 1936 and 1939 he worked at St George’s College, Salisbury, Rhodesia. He also spent time as Prefect of Discipline at Stonyhurst. In 1954 he became Rector and Parish Priest at St Wilfrid’s, Preston. He then was the Master of Novices at Manresa (1958-1962), Harlaxton (1962-1964) and Juniper Green (1964-1966). He then moved to Lauriston, Edinburgh before retiring to Wrexham, where he died.
