He was educated at St Ignatius College, Stamford Hill from 1939-1947, and was evacuated with the school to Hemel Hempstead.  After school, he entered the noviceship at Roehampton in 1947.  He did his juniorate at Roehampton too, then moved to Heythrop for philosophy, returning to Roehampton in 1953 for teacher training. Kyne was ordained at Heuthrop in 1960 and did his tertianship at St Andra, Karten, Austria, followed by a biennium in ascetical theology at Chantilly, France.  From 1965-1969 he was Spiritual Father at Campion Hall as well as assistant professor of dogmatic theology at Heythrop.  

Kyne became Tertian Master for a combined Irish-British Brothers’ tertianship at Rathfarnham, Ireland in 1969.  The next year he became Master of Novices and Superior at Loyola Hall, Rainhill and in 1972 he was appointed by Fr General to a task-force on Religious Life preparing schemata for The Thirty-Second General Congregation, which took place in Rome December 1974-March 1975 and which he attended.  Kyne became Superior of Southwell House in 1975 as well as Provincial Assistant for Formation (later Vice-Provincial) and Province Consultor.  In 1982 he was appointed Rector and Parish Priest of St Aloysius, Glasgow before moving to Craighead in 1988 as Assistant Provincial for Scotland and Superior.  He died suddenly at Craighead on 27 December 1989. His funeral took place on Monday 8 January 1990 at Garnethill.  Archbishop Winning was the chief concelebrant and Fr Earle gave the homily. </Nationality>
