One notebook dating from 1948 (St Aloysius' College Exercise Book) concerns religious themes, likely produced during a retreat. It includes notes on vocation, biblical quotes and extracts from other Jesuits (Fr Gerald Manley Hopkins SJ) and poets (Lord Alfred Douglas). Obiter Dictia written on the front, right hand side of the booklet. There are three letters within the booklet: one from a Mr O Baker to Mr Dowse (1945) with a timeline on the history of Polish people and the Soviet Union from 1940 to 1943, and two undated letters in Fr Joyce's handwriting. |
